Jeremy P. Feakins – Managing Partner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Jeremy is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jeremy P. Feakins & Associates, LLC and Chairman and General Partner of JPF Venture Fund 1, LP a Humanitarian, Ethical, Socially-Conscious and Sustainable Investment Venture Capital Fund. Jeremy has over 25 years of experience as a successful entrepreneur and investor. An ardent supporter of environmental and sustainability issues, he has been the Founder of two technology based companies whose products quickly found utility and success. From 1990 - 2006 Jeremy was the Chairman and CEO of Medical Technology & Innovations, Inc (MTI). Under his leadership, MTI developed and manufactured a first to market microprocessor based vision screening device that identified serious eye problems in young, preverbal and difficult to screen children. In 1996 Jeremy managed the public listing of MTI through a U.S. reverse merger and subsequently managed the sale of the rights to MTI’s vision screening product to a major international eyewear company. From 1998 – 2006 Jeremy was Managing Member of Growth Capital Resources, LLC where he managed the reverse merger for several successful companies including IP Voice Communications, Inc (IPVC) and Care Recruitment Solutions, Inc (CRSX). From 2005 – 2008 he served as Executive Vice Chairman and member of the Board of Directors of Caspian International Oil Corporation (CIOC) where he managed the reverse merger and financial public relations campaign. Jeremy also served as a Trustee and Director of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York, New York and Hollywood, California and was a member of the finance and development committees. Jeremy graduated from the Royal Naval Secretariat and Accounting College, Chatham, Great Britain and is a 7-year Veteran of the British Royal Navy.
James D. Greenberg – Partner and Chief Investment Officer
Jim is a Partner and the Chief Investment Officer of Jeremy P. Feakins & Associates, LLC. Jim is an experienced civil trial lawyer and partner in the Law Firm of Katherman, Briggs and Greenberg, with offices in York, Lancaster and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He has tried to verdict more than 100 cases, including several ground-breaking victories in major litigation. Jim has achieved the prestigious “A-Rating” among his professional peers and judges reflecting his reputation as a stellar lawyer with the highest ethical standards.
Jim is devoted to humanitarian causes, serving on many non-profit Boards, including the Susquehanna Waldorf School and the Children’s Home of York. He is also an ardent supporter of the creative arts, particularly film-making, where he has produced/co-produced short, documentary and feature length films, including No God, No Master, starring Oscar Nominee David Strathairn.
Passionate about the many environmental problems that are affecting our world and the human race, especially in regions such as Africa, Jim is committed to helping provide solutions to these mounting global concerns. As an experienced businessman, Jim has acquired broad based knowledge covering a wide range of commercial and business issues.
After graduating with Honors from Grinnell College (Iowa), Jim earned his law degree from Dickinson School of Law. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the York County, Pennsylvania and American bar associations as well as a former Member of The Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He is a frequent lecturer on civil trial matters and is recognized as one of the leading civil trial attorneys in the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S.
Denis J. Fitzpatrick – Partner and Interim Chief Financial Officer, Tatum, LLC
Mr. Fitzpatrick is a Partner in the Houston practice of Tatum, LLC, the nation’s largest executive services and consulting firm. During his 37 year career, Mr. Fitzpatrick has managed over $1 billion of energy, oil and gas and refining acquisitions, reverse mergers, public and private financings, IPO’s, restructurings, divestitures, and hedging/arbitrage programs. He specializes in financial leadership, public financing, reverse mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and divestitures for public and emerging growth companies, primarily in the international energy, oil and gas exploration and development and refining industries. He has also served on numerous domestic and international public, private, and not-for-profit Boards of Directors. Mr. Fitzpatrick holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business (Accounting Emphasis) from The University of Southern California School of Business in Los Angeles, California. He also holds a Certificate of Director Education from the Corporate Directors Institute of the National Association of Corporate Directors, of which he is currently a member.
Edward M. Baer – Principal and Partner & Chief Administrative Officer
Ed is a Principal and the Partner & Chief Administrative Officer of Jeremy P. Feakins & Associates, LLC. Ed is also the Founder and principal of the Investment Banking firm, Marston Group, with more than 30 years of financial management experience, including profit and loss responsibility, strategic and business planning, sourcing of financing, venture capital, and merger and acquisition analysis, marketing, negotiating, deal structuring and closing. Ed has served as Controller, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive Officer of small and middle market companies. As a financial intermediary, Ed has acquired broad based experience covering a wide range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, food processing, snack foods, beverages, franchises, banking, construction, printing, janitorial services, communications, healthcare, retail, and technology. Ed is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with numerous postgraduate courses. He completed the Executive Development Program from the Graduate School of Business, Indiana University, Ed has earned a number of certifications, which include, Certified Business Counselor, Business Enhancement Consultant and a Senior Business Analyst. He has also developed and conducted numerous seminars including angel financing, auditing, budgeting, cash management and general management, and all phases of the M&A process. Affiliations include the Pennsylvania Business Brokers Association, which is affiliated with M&A Source (world's largest International Organization of M&A Intermediaries representing the Middle Market), Venture Investment Forum, Capitol Region Chamber of Commerce.
Patrick McKenna- Investor and Consultant
Patrick is an investor with JPF Venture Fund 1, LP and is charged with the responsibility of examining the business potential of companies that are being considered for investment support by the Fund.
Patrick has been the President and CEO of Vdrive since 2001 after establishing a strategic alliance with Microsoft. He is an intuitive leader with the ability to capitalize on an organization’s existing strengths while facilitating change to take it to the next level. He also has a keen sense for identifying and seizing new opportunities to create explosive demand and willingly shares his expertise to develop the talents of future leaders.
His work at Microsoft included working with several divisions teams and projects where he developed relationships with multi-national entertainment and high tech companies. Patrick has led multiple projects for Microsoft resulting in more than $3 Billion in sales.
From 1994 to 1997, Patrick was the co-founder of WCI Telecom / Pangea-comm.com, where he built two successful telephone companies and was one of the fastest growing 100 companies in Seattle as noted by Pacific Business Journal. The Company was also described as one of the fastest growing private companies by Inc. Magazine. Both WCI and Pangea continue to thrive.
Patrick is a graduate of Washington State University, Pullman with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves.
